Mid-City Supply invested $1.6 million in a major expansion of its plumbing supply store in Michigan City.

The Elkhart-based company is a wholesale distributor of plumbing and HVAC products. It significantly expanded its location at 1501 E. 2nd St.

“We are excited about Mid-City Supply’s reinvestment in Michigan City and their commitment to our community. This is a family-owned business that has grown exponentially and sees a great economic future in being a part of Michigan City. We truly appreciate their vision and investment,” Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch said.

The building was expanded from 10,500 square feet to 18,600 square feet. It now features an an exterior hydronic snow melt system and an interior in-?oor radiant heating system. The changes are meant to make the building more energy-efficient and safer for visitors, who will be at less risk for slipping and falling outside.
